Hannah Gontorska
Interviewed by Kacper Szymczak
Kacper: How long have you lived in the area?
Hannah: I have lived in my area for quite some time now, about 30 years. I adore the people around me and wouldn’t wish to live anywhere else in the whole world.
Kacper: What’s a fond memory you have of living here?
Hannah: I have a fond memory of my dear husband, who recently passed away. Everyday, when I look around the house, it reminds me of him and his open mindedness.
Kacper: Have you seen this community come back from hard times before?
Hannah: I have seen my community come back from major setbacks financially and we are still going strong.
Kacper: What are some things that have helped you through lockdown and what brings you joy?
Hannah: Something that has helped me through lockdown was fitness. Even though I am a senior, I still find joy in fitness.
Kacper: What does community mean to you? What sort of things are you doing now to stay connected to your community and family?
Hannah: I do not connect with my community a lot anymore due to my age. But they feel like family to me and I connect by cooking for them for events.
Kacper: What message do you want to share for yourself and this community in 10 years time?
Hannah: For everyone to not worry about what will come, because we will get through anything.
