Organiser Joanne worked with Transition Year students in Callan on this lovely project. On the project, Joanne said “It was amazing listening to the stories that they came back with from each meeting. The students loved having the opportunity to create something meaningful and personal in response to each interview.”
Dorothy Hughes – I have always had a love for photography and in 2020 I decided to dive head first into it and study. I graduated with a distinction from WCFE in Photography and Digital Media. Since then I haven’t looked back.
I love to capture the most precious moments for a couple on their wedding day, a family welcoming a newborn and those fun and eventful family days out. I have been so lucky to have captured these moments for many couples and families.
Neighbourhood Network would like to thank everyone who participated in this project, especially our brilliant Community Organisers, teenagers and seniors. Thanks to Kilkenny County Council, The Creative Ireland Programme, Age Friendly Ireland & The Department of Rural and Community Development, and all Kilkenny-based community organisations who helped to spread the word about the project.
Special thanks to our photographer Dorothy Hughes for capturing the amazing portraits that make up the heart of this project, and to Marja Huhta and Ciara Egan for their dedicated work on the website and content.
