Emma: How long have you lived in the area?
Derek: 42 years.

Emma: What’s a fond memory you have of living here?
Derek: My life with my wife who passed away last year.

Emma: Have you seen this community come back from hard times before?
Derek: Yes.

Emma: What are some things that have helped you through lockdown and what brings you joy?
Derek: I’m a member of a group where I can communicate with people my own age.

Emma: What does community mean to you? What sort of things are you doing now to stay connected to your community and family?
Derek: It’s a lifeline and it’s for good communication.

Emma: What message do you want to share for yourself and this community in 10 years time?
Derek: Keep in touch with everyone you love as it could change.
