Kylie: How long have you lived in the area?
Cathy: 46 years.
Kylie: What’s a fond memory you have of living here?
Cathy: My fond memory is having lovely green fields around and having the freedom to let your children out and raise them in such a beautiful area.
Kylie: Have you seen this community come back from hard times before?
Cathy: Yes, they’ve come back with more jobs and education.
Kylie: What are some things that have helped you through lockdown and what brings you joy?
Cathy: Sing-song zoom for 2 hours with people from all around the world. Chair aerobics- very good exercise being in class with 15 other people. Donegal local development helped to teach zoom and using a phone.
Kylie: What does community mean to you? What sort of things are you doing now to stay connected to your community and family?
Cathy: Art class with friends. My two grandchildren. The Friday Club. Going to Murvagh Beach.
Kylie: What message do you want to share for yourself and this community in 10 years time?
Cathy: I hope that everyone will exercise, like walking. It would be great to see everyone get back to “normal”.
Kylie’s experience with the project: “It was great to see a person from such a different generation than mine’s point of view during this troubling time.”
