Kilnamona Community Development Association members Geraldine and Eileen worked together to organise an amazing project- collecting stories and memories from many Kilnamona locals and painting a picture of the town’s rich heritage.
Community organiser Mary worked with a lovely group from Lisseycasey in Ennis to capture some brilliant gems of local history. Mary said the project ” will benefit future generations.”
Emilija Jefremova was born to two creative parents in Klaipeda, Lithuania. They surrounded her with all kinds of art -theatre backstage, darkroom magic, jazz while painting and ability to see the beauty in all the small things.
Now based in Galway, Ireland Emilija travels often finding the most uncommon places and characters and reliving it all through the photos.
When in Ireland, Emilijia does festival and event photography (Galway2020, Body&Soul, Galway Film Fleadh, Knockanstockan etc) as well as working in films and tv studio as a camera operator.
Neighbourhood Network would like to thank everyone who participated in this project, especially our brilliant Community Organisers, teenagers and seniors. Thanks to Clare County Council, The Creative Ireland Programme, Age Friendly Ireland & The Department of Rural and Community Development, and all Clare-based community organisations who helped to spread the word about the project.
Special thanks to our photographer Emilija Jefremova for capturing some amazing portraits and to our brilliant Creative Content Organisers- Marja Huhta and Ciara Egan.
