Anne Hogan

Interviewed by  Judith Flynn / photos by Emma O’Brien

Judith: How long have you lived in your area?
Anne: All my life

Judith: What’s a fond memory you have of living here?
Anne: Minding my mother, who lived to be 101 years old, for 30 years. Was married in Sandycove.

Judith: Have you seen this community come back from hard times before?
Anne: Yes, though not too hard.

Judith: What are some things that have helped you through lockdown and what brings you joy?
Anne: Good friends. Past times. Cards & bingo. Walks with her stick.

Judith: What sort of things are you doing now to stay connected to your community and family and what does community mean to you?
Anne: Keeping touch with people on the phone and some people call to see me.

Judith baked Anne two delicious apple pies.. See photos of her creative response below alongside portraits of Anne, taken by Emma O’Brien.
