Interviewed by Meabh Moore

Meabh: How long have you lived in the area?
Aine: 1 year.

Meabh: What’s a fond memory you have of living here?
Aine: Christmas Day 2021, because the family could all come together for the first time in 2 years.

Meabh: Have you seen this community come back from hard times before?
Aine: No, because I only recently moved in.

Meabh: What are some things that have helped you through lockdown and what brings you joy?
Aine: My grandchildren and cooking Spanish food brings me joy and helped me through lockdown.

Meabh: What sort of things are you doing now to stay connected to your community and family?
Aine: Going for walks in the local park and going for coffee with my family.

Meabh: What message do you want to share for yourself and this community in 10 years time?
Aine: Live your life to the fullest and embrace every minute of it. Don’t dwell on the small stuff.
