Moville

Introduction by Anne Browne, the Moville community organiser

It was an absolute privilege to coordinate the MCC Time Machine project. The connection between young and old which this project fosters is a very important one. The project has many benefits not only for young and old but also for the wider community.

We have been living through very unusual times during which, for some time, everyone was forced to self isolate to protect our most vulnerable. This is thankfully in the past. But today having the freedom to interact and learn from one another against demonstrates the true value of connections and the real meaning of community.

Participants

Lucille McDermott

“A community is more than just a group of people living in a particular area. A community is a group of people we lean on when times are tough.”

Bridie Canny

“I stay connected to the community by going on walks around the town.”

Lena Houghtan

“Although I live in a rural area, I feel we have a great community. The neighbours around me are my community. I stay connected with neighbours, friends and relatives through phone calls and house visits.”
