Don James McGowan
Interviewed by Daniel Monohan / photographer Madeline Mulqueen
Daniel: How long have you lived in your area?
Don: 20 years.
Daniel: What’s a fond memory you have of living here?
Don: My fondest memory is when we came to view the house we now live in. We fell totally in love with it!
Daniel: What are some things that have helped you through lockdown and what brings you joy?
Don: I’m not badly affected by COVID but gardening, making planter boxes and a fence have kept me going.
Daniel: What sorts of things are you doing to stay connected to your community and family and what does community mean to you?
Don: I always enjoyed the local community. Zoom calls, the phone and my family visiting once a month have helped me stay connected.
Daniel: What message do you want to leave for yourself and your community in 10 years?
Don: Keep on going as you are going.
