PAT DALY
Interviewed by Nicole King / photographs provided by participant
Nicole: How long have you lived here?
Pat: 46 years.
Nicole: What are some things that have helped you during lockdown and what brings you joy?
Pat: People from the community have brought me shopping and have been there to talk to. Going to church to pray and getting the vaccine.
Nicole: What sorts of things are you doing to stay connected to your community and family and what does community mean to you?
Pat: Community means everything to me, as I don’t have family nearby and I am a widow. My community is always there to lend a hand and keep me going.
Nicole: What message do you want to leave for yourself and your community in 10 years?
Pat: I want to be remembered by all the things I have done for the community. There is always hope, no matter what you are going through. There’s always tomorrow and things will hopefully get better.
Nicole’s creative response is a drawing of Pat’s church which is included below as well as other images of Pat from her photo shoot with Madeline.
